Decisions about offers of places in community schools are the responsibility of the Royal Borough of Greenwich. If there are more applicants to a school than places available, priority will be given in the order described below:
1 Looked after children and previously looked after children who have been adopted or become subject to a residence or guardianship order, immediately following having been looked after are given top priority. A looked after child is a child who is in care of a local authority, including foster care.
2 Children who have a sibling (brother or sister) living at the same address who will be attending the school at the time of the child's admission have priority over children with no siblings in the school. 'Sibling' means a full, half, step brother or sister, or a child living as part of the family unit. This does not include siblings attending a school's sixth form provision.
3 Other children are given priority based on home to school distance.
Within criterion 3, applicants may be given higher priority on the grounds of professionally supported medical or social need for that particular school. In the event that two or more applicants have an equal right to a place under any of the above criteria, priority will be given to those who live nearest to the school. Measurement will be according to a straight line from a single fixed point in the centre of the home address to the main entrance of the school.
