We welcome parents and carers into Boxgrove Primary School believing we are partners in the education of children. Co-operation between parents and teachers help children to do better in school. Parents' time and expertise can be used in many ways in school and is greatly valued.
We welcome your involvement as a volunteer, especially to hear readers and help on trips, or as a helper for our fund raising events. If you wish to work as a volunteer, then please speak to a senior leader.
We want your child to be happy at school and achieve well. You can help this by:
If your child is absent through sickness please let us know on the day or as soon as possible either by phone or a brief written note.
As there are twelve weeks holiday in an academic year, the school does not authorise holidays during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances.
If you need to request leave, then you must collect a form from the school office. Permission will not be given if it is applied for after the visit or holiday has taken place.
The school must collect and report details of absences by law. Our school target for attendance is 96%. At Boxgrove we have a responsibility to work with the Local Authority to ensure that children attend school. We are required to inform the Local Authority if a pupil fails to attend or is late regularly and if no valid reason for absence is provided. The local authority prosecutes parents of pupils who are persistently late or absent.
