For the academic year of 2019/2020 the school received an amount of £19,842 in respect of P.E. and Sport funding. This will be spent in various areas and with the following expected impact:
The funding has been used to employ an apprentice specialising in P.E. who supports clubs before and after school and activities at playtimes. The school expects to see an increase in the number of children engaged in directed physical activities during these time. The apprentice also supports P.E. lessons across the school. The school expects to see more able children being challenged further through additional support.
The funding enables the school to release their P.E. subject leaders for quality training; this is then brought back to the school and provides vital professional development in this area cascaded down to all teachers within the school. The school expects this to impact on the number of children enjoying a wide and varied sports programme as part of their P.E. lessons.
The Reception classes all have P.E. built in to their weekly timetable which includes introducing basic movement initiatives. The school expects to see physical development increase in the Foundation Stage as a result.
The funding is used to cover the cost of external sports coaches to run competitions and to increase pupil participation. The school has had a significant increase in the number of after school matches this year.
The school has focused on ensuring girls take part in a range of inter/intra sporting opportunities. The school expects to see pupils proudly promoting their school in sports activities.
The funding has assisted in providing places for pupils in after school sports clubs. The school has seen a significant increase in numbers of pupils attending after school sports clubs.
The school will use the funding to support children who require 1:1 support the chance to participate in extracurricular clubs. The school expects to see an increase in the number of pupils playing for high quality clubs and engaging in after school sports activities.
